About Refractory Till cc

Refractory Till cc was started in 1987 as a manufacturer and supplier of calcined chamotte for the South African Refractory market.

Over the years it has evolved and grown into a major supplier in its field with its core function still being the calcining and milling of flint clay to produce an extensive range of chamotte products for the refractory, ceramic and metallurgical industries, where it is used extensively as the primary aggregate in all alumina – silicate castable, ramables and pre cast shapes up to 1500°C.

The company also has an extensive engineering and design function catering to the clay brick and mineral processing industries developed over years and undertakes specialist design projects for many base mineral related companies.

Refractory Till is a 100% female owned and run company, and employs a workforce encompassing the demographics of its local communities.
